No-exam life insurance
This page explains which applicants qualify for accelerated underwriting programs, how the process works, and what to expect if you don't qualify.
A growing number of carriers offer accelerated underwriting. Within defined age ranges and coverage amount limits, these carriers use information from your application, prescription files, driving record, and other records to make a decision without a physical exam. Some approvals arrive within hours. Every quote on this site indicates whether an exam is required, may be required, or is not needed for that specific product.
What it changes
Not having an exam does not bypass underwriting. Carrier systems verify your answers, and policies based on inaccurate information can be challenged within the first two years. If the carrier's records suggest concerns, it can still request an exam or lab tests; you maintain the choice to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Accelerated programs usually accept applicants younger than roughly 60 with requested coverage amounts within the carrier's thresholds, no significant health issues, and no tobacco use for at least a year. Some carriers will use results from a recent doctor's appointment with lab work instead of requiring a new exam.
If an exam is necessary, it typically involves a 20 to 30 minute appointment with a paramedical professional at a location of your choice (home or office) within the Oakley area, and you pay nothing. For healthy applicants, the exam results frequently lead to a better rate class, so the exam can actually work in your favor.
